Turning points in the Cold War 1961 - 1980
During the period of the Cold War there were times when the tension between the super powers became acute and the world drew closer to war between the USA and the USSR or even to nuclear war. In this part of the unit you will look in more depth at three of these moments of drama and tension. They were times when the nature of the Cold War changed - they were turning points.

The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 dividing East Germany from West Germany. What was the impact of the wall on the lives of the Berliners?
Task
You must create a venn diagram using the Inspiration program on your Macs to show an answer to the following question:
Compare and contrast the lives of the people in East and West Berlin between 1961 and 1980.
For each point that you make on the Inspiration add a note to explain it further. Every point must be supported by a real life example. Please include a reference list on the back of the venn diagram.

Why was the USA unable to win in Vietnam?
The Vietnam war lasted from 1965 - 1975. The USA joined in the war to support the South Vietnamese government and help to contain the spread of communism from the North. After they pulled out in 1973 communism spread to South Vietnam. Your task is to find out why the USA failed to achieve their objective in the Vietnam War.
